New Supporter: JAVAC Vacuum and Refrigeration

The Simunye Project would like to welcome JAVAC as the latest supporter of our December 2010 trip to South Africa. JAVAC generously donated $1500 to support the purchase of clothing for 14 volunteers. We’ll be wearing the Simunye and JAVAC logos with pride, and we’re so incredibly pleased to have JAVAC backing our volunteers.

For over 45 years, JAVAC have been Australia’s leading specialist in vacuum and refrigeration technology. Their Australian-made high-vacuum products are used worldwide in automotive, industrial, laboratory and refrigeration industries. JAVAC’s latest range of Green Star environmental products are helping develop sustainable buildings and reduce our impact on the environment.

Our thanks go to JAVAC for supporting our team. They have some great ideas and we’re looking forward to working with them in the future. You guys are awesome!

New Supporter: Ritchies Community Benefit Card

The Simunye Project is now supported by the Ritchies Community Benefit Card Program. If you shop at a Ritchies Supa IGA, you can help support children in South Africa as you do your weekly shop.

People frequently ask how they can support our cause, and the Ritchies card now makes it easy. Do your normal shop at a Ritchies store using a Community Benefit Card, and 0.5% of your shop will be donated to The Simunye Project at no extra cost to you. It’s the easiest way of sending a small contribution our way.

Ask for a Community Benefit Card the next time you see a Simunye volunteer, or ask for a card the next time you checkout and nominate ‘Simunye Project’. We’d  be very thankful, and know that every little bit counts!

New Supporter: Natural Beauty Care

The December 2010 team would like to thank Natural Beauty Care for their generous donations and continuous support of The Simunye Project. We were thrilled with their initial donation of cosmetics for our silent auction, then they blew us away with a contribution of $2000. Then they blew us away again when they decided to double their commitment just a few weeks ago. Clearly we made an impression, and we’re so thrilled to have such generous supporters.

NBC is one of Australia’s most versatile contract manufacturers of personal care products, with impressive capabilities in Skin Care, Hair Care, Body Care, Tanning, Spa, Cosmetic and specialized Household products. NBC offers product solutions to marketers of national and international brands, from concept and formulating through to production and delivery.

NBC are incredibly active with their charity contributions, and we’re looking forward to working actively with them in the future. Thanks so much NBC, you’re awesome.

Visit’s NBC’s soon-to-be-live website at naturalbeautycare.com.au.

New Supporter: TextbookExchange.com.au

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank TextbookExchange.com.au for their recent donation to our cause. After telling them about our previous work and the plans for our upcoming trip, we were thrilled when they offered to support us with a generous cash donation of $500. Thanks guys, you’re awesome!

In a nutshell, TextbookExchange help university students buy and sell their textbooks, and have over 100,000 books listed on average. Many of Simunye’s volunteers are university students, and we’ve (genuinely) been using TextbookExchange for the past few years to help recoup some money, so it’s great to see our trip being supported by a service we both know and love.

Thanks again to the team at TextBookExchange – you’re really making a difference and it’s so great to have you on board.
